The Role As a Senior Health Management Consultant you will serve as the lead consultant on client engagements, whether as part of a team providing a broader HGB solution, or for stand-alone health management projects. You will manage relationships with clients, participate in selling new projects to current and prospective clients and contribute to the development of new intellectual capital.
This role can be located in any of our US offices.
Performance Objectives: Financial Primary accountability for creating and executing a business strategy in order to meet annual revenue goals Significantly contribute to new business opportunities for health management work with new and current clients through such strategies as: coordinating with existing sales and Client Relationship Management teams to identify, develop and close strategic sales opportunities building relationships with internal and external sources to maximize the penetration of key target accounts leveraging existing market knowledge and contacts
Clients Lead health management related client engagements: Serve as senior health management strategist on projects within HGB teams, ensuring that the health management strategy fits within overall health benefits design Develop leveraged teams and plans for execution of health management-specific client engagements Ensure the progress of the team against established budget, time line and quality standards (while you have overall responsibility, consultant level staff typically serve as day to day project managers) Finalize and present quality deliverables to clients Manage health management client relationships: Establish a trusted advisor role with clients and provide consistent, superior relationship management Identify opportunities to cross-sell new products and services
Excellence Serve as senior strategist on projects, ensuring that health management strategy fits within overall benefits strategy Perform technical review of work products Contribute to the development of new health management consulting tools and approaches
People Demonstrate extensive leadership ability by mentoring other consultants Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams The Requirements 10+ years progressive experience and success in delivering healthcare management or related HGB consulting services to premiere clients, preferably gained in a health care consulting or brokerage environment, health insurance carrier, managed care organization or another leading health care provider Strong knowledge of the dynamics of group health plan design and delivery including how care management programs are operationalized at health plans Proven experience in managing multiple people and projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget Track record of success in managing clients and obtaining new ones, as well as leading global teams. Proven ability to recognize and diagnose issues, work in teams and leverage the resources of other related practices to address clients’ challenges An executive presence with polished and well developed written and oral communication skills Superior ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and work across all levels of an organization Interest and aptitude in keeping abreast of latest developments in health management and broader HGB plan strategy and contributing to the development of new tools and approaches Flexibility and adaptability to changing business dynamics Masters in Public Health Administration, RN or other experience with health care delivery strongly desired Flexibility with respect to travel that can range from 30 to 60%
